Research Program

Parks Forum recognises that its members require reliable information based on good science to both assist in day to day management decisions and to plan ahead for the effective management and stewardship of over 100 million hectares of parks, open spaces and protected areas.

The organisation’s Strategic Plan identifies the rationale for a research strategy and promotes development of a research program that influences the coordination of research across the park industry.

To implement this vision Parks Forum has been working with the Knowledge and Research Standing Committee to develop the Parks Forum Research Strategy and an externally focused Research Agenda. Together these documents will promote collaboration between park agencies and associated sectors, such as health and education, to undertake research that is focused on issues pertaining to the continuum of parks.
